One-time use – a guarantee of safety

An effective method of safety and preventing infection in patients is the use of disposable tools and accessories. They are not opened until the patient arrives, and are stored in separate sealed containers and completely sterile. They do not require additional procedures before starting treatment.

Our Center for Practical Dentistry in Ivano-Frankivsk uses modern methods of processing materials and tools that are subject to repeated use. Disinfection is carried out in several stages:

• Pre-sterilization treatment. Processing takes place in special ultrasonic baths with disinfecting solutions and subsequent mechanical cleaning of tools.
•  Azopyram test. The so-called “test for occult blood.” If the test result is positive, all instruments must be re-disinfected.
•  Disinfected accessories are laid out in special sterile disposable bags, on which marks are made that indicate compliance with sterility standards. This stage is performed manually necessarily in a special form – gloves, mask and the like.
•  Autoclaving. Packaged equipment must be processed at high temperatures. The latest MELAG class B + model is used, which guarantees the highest possible level of sterilization.
•  The tips of the drill turbine go through a separate cleaning procedure. Cleaned from organic residues with KaVo QUATTRO care PLUS.

Surface sterilization

Not only tools, but also surfaces need cleaning, because the doctor and equipment come into contact with them during procedures. All surfaces are treated with disposable wet sanitizing wipes. Also, the doctor and assistants constantly carry out hand treatment – washing with special means, despite working with medical gloves.
